COP 20 Interview with COP EU Delegate in Peru on Climate Negotiations since Kyoto

COP EU delegate on The lack of progress of COP Climate negotiations since the Kyoto Protocol in December 1997.

There has been a very slow process in climate change negotiations, and great obstacles have been China and the USA, because they have given priority to their own national interests. The United States has the problem about finding national unity about how to deal with climate change, and China has given its main priority to economic growth and it has caused a problem in the negotiations because China and the United States have not been the leader in the process. The European Union has tried to be the leader in the process. China must deliver on environmental problems.

There is although hope for China and the USA in the negotiations, but they must agree to a timeline.
